No time to film? A movie in minutes!

February 24th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Video/movies

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Discovery Education (DE) video clip (make sure it says EDIT)
  • Students
  • Access to movie making software ( I use Windows Movie Maker)
  • A place to serve ( I use Teachertube)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pre-heat the project by viewing the video in class without sound.
  2. Add in the required clips into moviemaker.  Meanwhile students create narration.
  3. Gently mute the clips (you must be in timeline mode, select clip-audio-mute)
  4. Quickly combine your students’ voices with the film (using the narration feature).
  5. Sprinkle a dash of citation from DE and complete movie.
  6. Serve your film locally or online (upload to Teachertube).

This sample was created by Kerry Fleschner’s fifth grade language arts class. (Look for them at the end!).  Now if cooking was only this easy…
