Are you kinesthetic? musical? How about spatial or linguistic? Or like my math peers – maybe logical –mathematical? Howard Gardner developed Multiple Intelligences- or as I would tell my fifth graders- the many ways to be smart. Here is a survey that will help learners determine their strengths and weaknesses. I did this every fall (along with a brief PowerPoint found here). This was a preview for the various learning styles/projects I would use throughout the year. This brief background helped them as we sang (and gestured) our way through science and social studies. And remember- no one way it better.
