Learn Genetics (hosted by the University of Utah) includes interesting interactives (the size of a cell, inside a cell, and more),virtual labs (click here for the DNA extraction one), as well as chances to apply your learning (become the space doctor and see if you can cure the aliens here).
This site is packed with information yet it is well organized and easy to use. While it is geared to the high school level, some of the material would be interesting for lower grades. There is a separate link for Teacher resources (lessons plans and activities).
