Hello, my name is ….

Renee Passman used Voicethread in her 8th grade Spanish classes as a way for her students to practice their pronunciation. Each student drafted a few sentences and then used Voicethread to record their voice.  Renee plans to use this tool through the year to record the students’ language growth.

Here are two interactive magazines  to assist students to read between the lines and analyze the advertising messages.  This site is from the Center for Disease Control and will help students become conscious of the messages around us every day. This might be an effective way to introduce medai literacy into your classroom.

Consumers + Producers (no foodweb involved!)

  Here are three economic sites geared for younger students.  The consumer provides a visual explanation of this economic concept. Then visit producers for the other side of the equation. You can then put both parts together at You Are Here by visiting a virtual mall.  You can examine supply, demand, and competition.
