Who knew history had labs?

I know labs- investigations, observations, and drawing (sometimes a different) conclusion.  The folks at UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County) have taken history into the lab.  History Labs (or A Guide Approach to Historical Inquiry in theK-12 Classroom) outlines a step by step plan to help encourage critical thinking skills as opposed to the memorization of facts in the classroom.  The site not includes vides on the key elements, but several teachers have uploaded their History Labs (complete with all the resources) for you to use.  Talk about history alive!
