We won a DENny!!!

No, I’m not talking about a quick place for breakfast.  It’s an award presented by the DEN*- and this blog was one of the five winners for individual blog!  And I say “we” because many of my posts are based on projects you and your students have completed in the classroom.  Thank you for sharing your work with me.  It was inspiring to receive this national recognition from my peers.

What’s an avatar?  From an internet view, it’s a graphic representation of the user.  While I have had some troubles creating avatars before, here is a site that makes it as easy as click and save!Doppelme will allow you to select your wardrobe, hairstyle, expression, and background for use in your blog or website.  Does mine look like me?

Imagine that school has….

closed due to a snowstorm that has passed through your town and left behind ten inches of snow.  Write an adventure that takes place in this snowy weather.

Here’s an innovative way to blog in TeacherWeb!  Nina Obryk (5th grade LAL) posted this writing prompt and encouraged her students to respond. It makes interesting reading- not only from the student responses-but also to see how some responded to Nina’s feedback. Click here to view her site.
