What can you do with a pumpkin?

November 13th, 2009 · No Comments

Enjoy this Photopeach created by third grade teacher Adrienne Visone!  Her students completed the “How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin Project. Can you count how many pumpkin stations they enjoyed? Everyone (myself included) had a magnificent time exploring language, science, art, and math skills- all with a pumpkin theme. (My favorite station was word making!)

When you have goosebumps (and it’s not Halloween!)What are your fears? This site covers the gamer from how our brain responds (and how animals react!)  While this is hosted by a California museum, it reminded me of an exhibit at Liberty Science Center.   Visit Goosebumps: The Science of Fear and learn to conquer your phobias!

Got five minutes?  Enhance your 2.0 skills with Hall and Steve.  Discovery Education and CDW-G have united to help everyone realize the potential of Web 2.0 in the classroom.  While the site launched earlier this school year (see post here), they recently added videos staring DE chief presenters Hall Davidson and Steve Dembo.

Hall and Steve will explain everything in series of 7 videos.  The videos are brief and focus on a few sites, why the site is important and how to integrate it into your curriculum.Below is their introduction- check out the rest of the series here.
