MoMA at the zoo and in space

Here are two sites from the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).  Destination Modern Art is geared to a younger audience (ages 5-8) and follows a charming space alien as she explores and interacts with the artworks in the museum.  Art Safari involves a set of animal themed works followed by a series of writing prompts.  The questions encourage the viewer to examine the art and share insights.  Thanks to Georgia Baumann for sharing.

Make music- online keyboard

Here’s a instrument to facilitate your students musical instruction.  This site features a color coded keyboard- I think this would work well on the SMART Board.  While it is not a full piano, (it’s a little more than an octave) there looks like enough to teach the patterns and the basic skills.  Wonder how it would work in a computer lab if you had a conductor?

OK, so the music is not from Austria- but better yet- it is from the Truman Third Grade Chorus!  Visit the events page on the Truman web page to get a sneak preview of their upcoming concert.  Special thanks to Marianne Cobell and John Tutela for creating this podcast magic.  Will I see you at their concert next month?
