The Sanctuary has several weekend programs that we will be attending including:
Raptors Up Close! offers the chance to see a live hawk, falcon, or owl, and learn what puts these winged predators at the top of nature’s food chain.
Birding with Bincoulars. Learn the features that can help you spot birds of prey with speed and ease, including tips on how to identify raptors. Bincoulars are provided for you.
Trapping and Tracking: We will meet international interns and learn the tools and technology used to study long-distance migrants. The will include information on satellite and radio telemetry, wing-tagging, and the importance of counting migrant hawks.
Name that Raptor: We will learn to ID Hawk Mountain’s common raptors with a little help from a Hawk Mountain educator.
Hawk Mt is a great place for hiking, photo taking, conservation education. This event will provide opportunities for discussions of implementing the information discovered here into classroom lessons.

The Sanctuary Gift Shop sells bottled water and other drinks, trail mix, and light snacks. Please pack a lunch, snacks and drinks and understand that Hawk Mountain is a carry-in, carry-out facility.
