My 8th period class”volunteered” to do an independent study project on Forces in Fluids. The students worked very hard to complete the two part assignment. Each student was responsible for an individual grade component as well as a group component. The class was divided into 3 groups. Each group was responsible for submitting a lesson plan, handouts, demonstrations, and a media presentation. They even created a quiz for their particular section! One or two members from each group taught the students in my 6 classes. They were amazing!!:) Not only were their lessons interesting, they also included demonstrations as well as PowerPoint presentations.
As I watched this wonderful experience unfold in my class, I saw how powerful peer teaching can be. What a great way to learn!
Here is a movie the Section 1 group created. Thanks Mai, Josh, Piotr, Selina, Taylor, and Justin!
