During my current class, I have enjoyed experimenting with different ways that we can differentiate instruction with technology. I have learned how to make a tic-tac-toe board incorporating technology and multiple intelligences, how to create a survey to differentiate instruction according to student’s interests, and create a Bloom’s taxonomy chart that includes weblinks for students. For many teachers, using technology in general is another way to differentiate instruction, because they do not use it at all. I do use technology in my classroom everyday. I recommend to others to look at their curriculum and see how using a technology tool might enhance the engagement and learning for their students. The experience of applying new technology tools to your current curriculum helps you see connections that you might not have made before. I believe that using technology engages the learner. Here is an example of using a tic-tac-toe board that focuses on multiple intelligences and technology integration.

Hi Dorie,
Thanks for sharing your tic-tac-toe board. Many of the sites you included are among my favorites (BrainPOP, Wikispaces, Glogster, and Wordle).
Do you have your second graders actually log in and use SurveyMonkey and Twitter? If so, have you encountered any problems or issues, and what have you done to resolve them?
Thanks for your comments and/or suggestions!

I just set up my classroom twitter account in the spring. I am hoping to rotate students into tweeting the happenings of the classroom. I have found some other 2nd grade classrooms. I am hoping to connect with Karie’s classroom as well.
As far as surveymonkey, although I have used it. I am now looking to see how students might use it or google forms. I really enjoyed making the survey earlier in this class and hope to get my students creating as well.
We haven’t used glogster yet either, so I will have to see how difficult it will be to teach the technology and stay on track with the curriculum. This year I think I will have to share one of the laptop carts, so that makes it harder as well. So, we will see. Thanks for your comments and questions!
