Congratulations to the winning board from our Polar Bear Board Builder Challenge, by Maggie and Rylie from North Carolina!

Maggie and Rylie won a virtual meeting with the scientists from Polar Bears International for their whole class. The board was a great mix of information, images, video, and… an original song recorded and uploaded into the board. The song was the clincher. You can see the whole board by clicking on the image. Congratulations, Maggie and Rylie!

It was difficult for the team to pick a winner, because lots of great boards were submitted. Thanks to all of you who submitted a board! Luckily for all of us, these boards are now in Discovery Education and you can find them by searching for “polar bears.”

Remember, we can all tune in to the webcasts from the tundra. Our team member, Lance Rougeux will be in the TUNDRA BUGGY with scientists from Polar Bears International and you’ll have a chance to spot polar bears and other wildlife as you hear from the scientists. You only need to register once and can attend as many of the sessions as you want. REGISTER HERE!

Here is the session schedule:

Tuesday, November 5 at 1:00pm Central Time

Wednesday, November 6 at 11:00am Central Time

Wednesday, November 6 at 12:00pm Central Time

Hi Grace. Thanks so much for your note. We have corrected the link. You should be able to see the whole board now, as long as you’re logged into your Discovery Education account.

THAT WAS THE BEST SONG EVER!

  14. Jeanette (Reply) on Thursday 31, 2013

Hi Natalie. That’s right: the most you can do is share the board with your teacher. If your teacher would like to, and it’s appropriate and ready for publication, your teacher can share your board with your school, your school district, or all of Discovery Education. It’s up to your teacher and your school’s policies. Thanks for commenting — I bet a lot of students were wondering the same thing.

Hi Monica. You can attend the webcast by clicking on the registration link in the post. (It is during the daytime, so you’ll probably be at school. You could ask your teacher about it. Maybe if it falls at a convenient time, you could watch from school — up to your teacher, though!) We will make archives available when possible, too.
