Virtual Field Trip to Google This Week

Doodle4GoogleThisWeek

Just a quick reminder to all of you interested in participating in Doodle4Google: Discovery Education will be livestreaming a visit to Google headquarters and time with the professional doodlers this Wednesday, March 5th at 1:00pm EST. You can register here and attend the live event from any computer with an internet connection. It might be a great idea to see if your teacher wants to tune in with your whole class!

The deadline to enter a doodle into the Doodle4Google competition is March 20th.

This competition is open to students in grades K-12, so everyone can participate.

Is that date when the whole Doodle4Google thing is due?

Hi Ryan. Nope: the Doodle4Google competition is open until March 20th, but our virtual field trip to the headquarters and discussions with the professional doodlers is March 5th. Use the virtual field trip to help you as you prepare to enter the competition, if you want. Good luck!

Catelyn — check out doodle4google.com. They have all the videos and submission guidelines on that site! You have until March 20th to enter. Good luck.

We have a couple people from Discovery Education going to the headquarters to talk to the doodlers. Then… anyone can “go” virtually. Just register and sign on for the 1pm EST “trip” — you’ll get to see the event live from Google headquarters. It’s just like being there!

Hi Chris — I can’t enter the doodle competition, because I’m not a K-12 student. For now, only my Discovery Education colleagues can put a blog post here. Maybe someday, we’ll provide opportunities for students to post. We know you have lots of great things to say! Jeanette

Is Jeanette the only one who ever posts? I would think there would be multiple people writing the blog.

    • Jeanette March 10, 2014, 3:53 pm

Hi Shane. I’m not the ONLY one who ever posts, but I do most of the posts, right now. That’s changing, though! In fact, you’ll see a post from my colleague, Kyle, sometime this week… and maybe one from a colleague who is traveling in another country soon. Also, we hope to be able to feature class and student posts in the future. Stay tuned.
