Wow! Just one full day of attending sessions and visiting vendors has been overwhelming. I’ve learned so much new information by talking with other educators. I’ve had a preview of Blackboard 9.0 and the SMART Math Tools. I think I’ll be better prepared now to teach the teachers at my school about the new upgrades. I definitely need to purchase a LiveScribe pen. I think it would be great to have students take turns being the class note taker. They could then post the notes on Blackboard for the other students in the class. I’m also excited about using some web 2.0 tools that I didn’t know about: Edmoto, Prezi, JayCut, and Twitter Fountain. I’m looking forward to two more days of learning.
DEN LC Symposium
I attended the DEN LC Symposium in Silver Spring on June 25 and 26. This was a very valuable experience. I came away with lots of great ideas for the SC DEN LC to implement. I can’t wait to share my notes with the other LC members. This was also a great opportunity for me to connect with DEN LC members from other states. My PLN has expanded quickly, and I’m very excited about continuing to learn from my colleagues.
