About Your Teacher
I have been teaching science here at MCMS for the past 6 years. Prior to coming here, I taught 7th grade science at Phillip A Sharp Middle School in Pendleton County as well as one semester of teaching the PASS program at Mason County High School. I graduated in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education with minors in science and history. My Master of Arts in Educational Leadership was completed in July 2005 from Eastern Kentucky University providing me certification as a school principal. Currently, I am completing requirements for certification as Director of Pupil Personnel and Supervisor of Instruction from Morehead State University to serve as a Rank I certification.
I am happily married to Lance Bowling and we live on a farm in Bracken County KY, where we raise beef cattle and hay. We have 4 dogs and a baby boy, Levi McKay, who was born on October 4, 2010! In my spare time I spend every free moment possible in the great outdoors whether hunting whitetails with my Mathews bow or riding ATVs. I love nature and feel that it is my job to introduce my students to the great ecosystems of Kentucky and teach them to appreciate all that it has to offer as well as conservation methods necessary to sustain it for future generations.
