I just had to post this. It combines 2 of my loves. Classical music and Beaker of the Muppets.
I had to share this post for everyone. I met Lee Speers back in May while having dinner and drinks with some of the captains from the show Deadliest Catch.
He relates one of his experiences while at the National Education Association Representative Assemble in DC. Please take the time to read what took place. It is an awesome example of democracy in action.
Day 2 at the workshop. Learning how to use primary resources from the Library of Congress. 1st day we learned about what the LOC website has for teachers and how to be successful in searching for items to use in lessons. Today we will be beginning to design a lesson or lessons while using the primary resources at the LOC (American Memory section). The lessons that we make here will be posted at the Wayne County RESA page in August sometime.

Believe it or not, but I am a sub for summer school. Cool job! I am just at my school and it is only half days. So far I have subbed 3 days. I was asked to sub for more but I was in Mass. for a week.
Subbing at school is nice as I am able to get into the school to get some things ready for the fall and help out the summer school teachers with technology questions.
Speaking of… Wed. I will be at a workshop about how to develop online and blended (online/in class) courses and lessons. Should be very helpful as the school gets an ITV lab this summer.
Next week I will be in a workshop for 2 days that deals with using the on-line resources from the Library of Congress and how to write lesson plans. We will be turning in our lessons at the end of the summer for posting on the internet for other teachers to use. Cool stuff.
I will be sharing about what I learn here.
Peace!
