I love, love, love Flickr. I think if a teacher wants to have a digital camera in their classroom they must sign up for a Flickr account. There are just too many ways to use the photos not to require it. If I could, I would forbid printing the pictures using the color printers at school. You take digital pictures - USE THEM DIGITALLY.
Well now Flickr also does cool projects that you can say you were a part of. So join in the fun. Coming up in just over a week is Flickr 888. How cool is that? Here here is what they posted on their blog.

Let me know when you post a picture so I can see it. Don’t forget to join the Discovery Educator Network group on Flickr to post pictures from any DEN events you attend this year.

We have quite a bit going on for Shark Week. Something we have talked about is our raffle ball is back. This time it is loaded with stuff. One of the best items that you can win is a gift certificate to Burning Tiki for a genuine SL Shark Tooth Necklace. This has be generously donated by the owner of Burning Tiki, Kenbro Utu. When you win the GC, just drop it on Kenbro’s profil and IM him if you want a male or female necklace. If you have time, stop by Burning Tiki for more jewelry, sandals, shorts, and beach furniture. Also don’t forget to tell Kenbro thanks for supporting the DEN!

We had a fantastic time at the event last night at Dive World. Everyone was flopping around in their fins until we got in the water and then were able to swim. Something you might have missed at Dive World is their Project Aware campaign. They bring together several projects to help educate the public about how fragile our oceans are and also what people can do to help. So if you missed it, head back over to Dive World and take a look. You might even discovery some freebies.
