Cisco WebEx on the iPhone

So I am just checking out Twitter when I see a tweet from @teach42 (Steve Dembo) who was re-tweeting @WebGalPat who posted this link about how you can soon use your iPhone to attend Webex meetings. Yes the same Webex that Discovery Education uses for the EdTech Connect webinars, the Stream-A-Thons, and so much more. Here is an intro that they had on their web site.

Meet Rovio™

I was looking through new apps recently released for the iPhone and saw one that was a remote for Rovio. What is a Rovio? I know I asked the same question. It turns out it is a roving webcam. Can’t wait to see if we can get one for the school. Wish me luck.

Yesterday I presented at the Discovery Educator Network’s Virtual Conference. It was the first time that I had presented Second Life in person. I ended up pulling out something new to wow everyone. It was PicLens. I found out about it from a regular resource of new and cool tools, the NCS-Tech blog written by Kevin Jarrett.

PicLens is a Firefox extension that works on both Macs and PCs. There is also a plugin for Safari.

SpaceTime™

Fresh from the Consumer Electronics Show, this is 3D web searching. I have only played with this for about 20 minutes but it does have the wow effect. I do like that if you search in there Google search that instead of page of links it actually gives you the visual page results.

Give it a try and tell me what you think!
