CT Science Educator’s Conference October 17
The CT Science Educator’s Conference will be held at the Hamden Middle School on Saturday, October 17. The keynote speaker will be Ed Buckabee. Ed is the founder of the highly successful U.S. Space Camp and Aviation Challenge programs with graduates of over 500,000. He started a special camp for U. S. Teachers of the Year and later added International teachers and students. He has been successful in organizing similar Space Camp programs in Japan, Belgium, Canada and Italy. He conceived and developed the first exhibit telling the story of the Mercury astronauts at the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
I will be presenting a workshop on using Discovery Education Science for Middle School with Rachael Manzer, Science Coach for the Suffield Public Schools. The state department of education has entered into an agreement with Discovery Education to provide subscriptions to all middle schools in the state. This is a wonderful opportunity for teachers in CT to access these exceptional resources for use in their classrooms for the next several years.
