About Me

My name is Jeanne Rogers and I am the Instructional Technology Specialist at Deer Park. I have been a teacher since 1974. I am originally from Holley, which is in Western New York, near Lake Ontario. I’ve also lived and in Colorado, South Dakota, and Indiana before moving to Florida.

I have taught nursery school through grade 8 in my career. I spent 15 years teaching middle grades mathematics and 2 years as a critical thinking grade 6 teacher. I transferred to Deer Park Elementary in 2000.

I have been a teacher trainer for the Pasco County School District since 1989. Workshop topics include Multiple Intelligences, Cooperative Learning (Spencer Kagan), Middle School Endorsement and Bridges (our Middle School Curriculum program), I have had several ideas published in the Oasis Magazine and I even managed to find the time to write a book (Ideas in Bloom). I am a certified Thinkfinity field trainer and a member of the Florida League of Teachers.

The St. Petersburg Times published several columns with web site suggestions for parents, students, and teachers over the past 2 years. Here’s one for online FCAT practice sites.

I became a Florida Master Digital Educator in 2006. I continue to work with USF, FCIT, and the Bureau of Instruction and Innovation on technology integration. I presented at the Teaching and Learning Summer Institutes 2006 in Tallahassee and in 2007 presented in Lakeland, Sebring, and Pompano Beach.  During the summer of 2008 I presented in Naples, Lake City, Orlando, Tampa, and Lakeland.
