I also enjoy using Storyline Online in my classroom as a read aloud option sometimes because it is nice to have my students hear another person besides me reading. It allows them to hear how people read books differently. This site has actors from the Screen Actors Guild who are doing the read alouds. The website is: www.storylineonline.net/

I have had wonderful experiences with SMARTboards. I have found that my students are fully engaged when using the interactive boards. Even when they are just watching other students, they are sort of mesmerized by the techonolgy. Many of the teachers I work with seem to be leery about using them. I had one in my classroom for about a week, and teachers were coming in to check out how it works. I think they are really interested in them but aren’t quite sure how they work. I personally love these interactive boards and wish I had my own in my classroom for every day use.

Looks like a great way to promote langauge arts and reading with the wordle site. I plan to use this site to build vocabulary along with Discovery Streaming clips about word famiies and blends. Nathan

You Tube is available at your work? How wonderful! For PC, I use the .mpg extension. Seems to work best for us.

I converted the You Tube file to mov for the Mac. You are given choices in a drop down menu. It opens in QuickTIme.

Hi Jeanne, I enjoyed your postings. I am trying to get my blog up and running on a regular basis. I use a class blog and a professional wiki and am beginning to use a class wiki. I find that some of the teachers in my school are very eager and some want no parts of technology. And age doesn’t seem to be a factor!
BTW: I’m a 4th grade teacher in PA.
