Kristin Aquilino

Chapter 1 was filled with a lot of action! How did it make you feel? Were you nervous as you read?
After we read chapter 1, we are taken back 21 hours in chapter 2. The family is planning on leaving New Orleans. Do yout hink they ever make it out? Make a prediction on what you think might happen.

I felt sad and a little bit scared because I thought that Barry Tucker was dead.
I perdict that Barry Tucker and his family will make it out of New Orleans with his family alive.

i think each chapter had a different topic but was still pretty good. for example chapter 1 was about a hurricane but chapter 2 was about a drawing and working on making a picture’s flames look real.

Hi Kids!
You are doing an amazing job blogging!! The cover and the first chapter are scary and sad. For those of you who are confused I will explain about the chapters. Chapter 1 pulls you into the book. It is describing when Barry is swept away from his family. Chapter 2 takes us about 2 days before the hurricane. They are just showing us how normal Barry’s life was and what did during the days prior to the storm. He and his friend are into comic books and created a new character for a contest.
Keep up the great work!!

In the first chapter it was sad because I thought Barry was going to get hit by the house. I don’t think they are leaving for a reason. I also think they weren’t leaving because if they left than Barry wouldn’t have got stuck in hurricane Katrina.

I was nervous as I was reading Chapters 1-4.
I do not think Barry and his family were able to leave for Houston for two reasons:
1. There was a lot of traffic
2. The cover of the book shows Barry on an upside down car in water in front of his house.

hi Alyssa!
Our first book is going to be Dexter the Tough. See if Pond library or the public library has it and blog along with us. I will be sending the permission slips out this week so we will hopefully get started in the next 2-3 weeks.
