School Planning

I spent the day today working on getting my room back into some semblance of order. I think I made a pretty big dent in things. In our school, we have to remove everything from the walls and floors as well as anything that cant be easily rolled out of the way. I packed up and moved stuff into the garage. I guess it makes for easier cleaning. Unfortunately, when you get back, you have no idea what you had where. So, I set up a whole new room today. I worked mostly on moving and rerouting cords for my computer attached to the Promethean Activ Board.

I am excited to do things differently this year. I tried too hard to break things apart and teach them seperately than to do them all together. I think that comes with experience though. I will definitely be a better teacher this year. I have been given several new opportunities including the GT program, so I am thrilled to death. I am going through GT training this next week, but being an avid techy and being big into creativity, I think I will find this challenge a lot of fun!

Tomorrow, some men are removing old white boards from my room, behind my computers. So next week, I will be putting up feaux bulletin boards where they once were. After the new bulletin boards are up, I think I will be officially ready for school. Isn’t that a bold statement for a teacher. Oh wait… I guess I need to create some lesson plans! LOL. I actually don’t see students for the first two weeks because of the way our admin has set things up, so I get to help with registering and escorting new students and all of the others little things that get the school year started. I am getting excited! I hope my kiddos are just as excited to get back to my classroom as well! Tomorrow is my last day of summer!
