<p><span style="font-family: Georgia"></span><font size="3"><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia">It&#8217;s funny how I came into the digital world.  Over twenty years ago I had just completed my undergraduate degree.  I was newly married and was taking a graduate class.  My brother, who is six years younger than I, had just purchased a new Tandy.  He </span></span><span class="mceitemhiddenspellword1"><span style="font-family: Georgia">didn</span></span><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia">&#8216;t have money to buy a monitor.  He went to the flea market and got an old black and white television to use as a monitor.  He was very proud of his computer but to me, it looked like junk!  </span></span></font></p>
<p><font size="3"><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia">After much pleading, my brother convinced me to use his computer to type a paper for class; and with much </span></span><span class="mceitemhiddenspellword1"><span style="font-family: Georgia">skepticism</span></span><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia">, I </span></span><span class="mceitemhiddenspellword1"><span style="font-family: Georgia">attempted</span></span><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia"> it.  It </span></span><span class="mceitemhiddenspellword1"><span style="font-family: Georgia">didn</span></span><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia">&#8216;t go over very well as I was use to a manual typewriter.  Every time the cursor got to the edge of the screen, I hit return.  I really fussed when I previewed my paper and saw that it was a huge mess!  My brother tried to show me how to correct the alignment but I was trying to push him out of the way.  With the two of us fighting over the computer, someone hit the wrong button and my entire paper was lost!  I was furious and said very ugly things to my brother.  Shame on me!  </span></span></font></p>
<p><font size="3"><span class="mceitemhidden"><span style="font-family: Georgia">Anyway, after almost 25 years I have finally arrived in the digital world.  It amuses me that teachers in my district with which I work, think of me as a techno-guru.  I had a long hard journey to this place and I know I still have a lot to learn.  The really funny thing is that now I am learning not from my baby brother, but often from my 17 year old son.</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia"></span></font><font size="3" face="Times New Roman"> </font></p>
