Discovering Discovery
I have been a resident of Silver Spring for nearly three years, and pass the Discovery Communications headquarters everyday. A Silver Spring landmark, it so happens that the building sits squarely in between my home and my son’s preschool.
I often admire its design (and decorations), and take delight in featuring it as a point of interest on tours of my neighborhood with friends and family. I’m a native New Yorker so make sure you read that last part with the appropriate amount of indifference (New Yorkers are not allowed, by City ordinance, to be star struck).
But friends, this week was different.
On Monday I entered, for the first time, One Discovery Place. I walked in an educator and came out a DEN Star! After two days of sessions, lectures and participation at the National Training Academy, I have been appropriately armed with some major knowledge and cool stuff. Can’t wait to integrate!
