Today another data point emerged, demonstrating that the iPad can be a valuable asset in education. Christina Bonnington of WIRED Magazine talks about how the iPad and electronic textbooks options have provided benefits in the classroom. For example, she discusses how Houghton Mifflin Hartcourt Algebra1 course app being integrated into math instruction increased the number of students scoring “Proficient” or better from 59% to 78%. Honestly, if NCLB was to be left in place, all schools would need to be seeing numbers increase like those results over a few years and reach the 100% levels stipulated in the federal policy.
