Knight Center launches its first massive online course, an Introduction to Infographics, Data Visualization
Author: Dean Mantz | Filed under: EducationAs many of you already know, I am a big supporter for visual engagment and learning strategies in education. Along with the visual learning I too promote student creativity. So, I ask each of you this question “How do you engage your students while allowing them to create visual projects?” Well, one of my favorite approaches is through the development of infographics. Now, I will state that I am still learning more and how to create infographics. Thanks to friends like Kathy Schrock, Nancy Sharoff, and Mary Frazier I have started to develop the necessary foundation for infographic and visual learning.
Another resource, of which I just learned of this group via Jim Lerman’s Scoop.it site (www.scoop.it/t/into-the-driver-s-seat/). The Knight Center for Journalism in the America recently kicked-off its first massive open online course. The course introduces participants to Infographics and Data Visualization. The course facilitator is Alberto Cairo, an educator from the University of Miami.
