Post Webinar Stuff

This is a quick post with the PowerPoint and other goodies from the webinar of November 20. Thanks to everybody that helped out, especially Joe Brennan, Scott Kinney, and Teryl.
Here’s the Word doc with the video copy-and-pastes, the Gcast site, and the “Why is Winter colder than Summer” site.

    Hall,

I took what you taught us and created a short video with the movement inside the video as well as embedding the YouTube video right into my blog! Take a peek here if you get a chance!

Thanks again for a great presentation!

It’s so wonderful to see how technology can allow us to see into the future…..You’ve got a ‘2008′ date on the slide!!!! LOL

In all seriousness, thanks again Hall for putting together such a wonderful and useful resource. I only wish I could have been there in person to experience all your ‘asides’!

  3. Joe Brennan Says:

Great info as usual, Hall. As far as the more advanced video editing programs go—
-Mac guy that I am, the Adobe Premiere Elements/PhotoShop Elements bundle has to be one of the best software deals in education (~$100). My young nephews (11-17) are big Pinnacle Studio fans.
    - Apple’s Final Cut Express ($179) is the SAME interface as Final Cut Pro. It’s just a reduced feature set for the reduced price. Pro Studio ($699) gives you the all the features pros use to edit commercials, network TV and feature films, plus DVD Studio Pro, Compressor, Motion (3D animation), and Soundtrack Pro. A lot of power and a lot of learning curve, but students are usually undaunted.
Remember, you only need these programs on a station or two for special scenes and projects. They can then be saved and imported into MovieMaker or iMovie on another computer.

OK, I’m leaving in the 2008 date. But good point. Also, here’s the doc with the links. If you want the video we saw of the Creeping Vine mime, let me know and I’ll add it.

  5. Teryl Magee Says:

Thanks for all of the great information! I am always getting new ideas every time I attend a DEN webinar! You all are awesome! Happy Turkey Day! : )

  6. Celeste Craig Says:

I did have the opportunity to attend your workshops on Thursday. I want to thank you for sharing some fabulous ideas that I brought back in my school. Your presentations were engaging and entertaining. I do have a question…what is the name of the image website you mentioned (I thought you said kidszoo.org)? Thank you for coming to NH.

  7. Joe Brennan Says:

Celeste, that’s http://www.kitzu.org a great source of kits (video clips, stills and sounds) for putting together a digital story.
    –Joe
