Nice metaphor, while higher pay for the professional level job we are already doing would be nice, I agree, merit pay won't make education better.

Hi Laura; good for you for admitting your limitations. With so many great things out there to read, learn and write about it is tempting to go 'overboard' in trying to come up with some fresh creative post each day. I always like to think that when picking something to do, do it at a level which you can sustain and do it well. Looking forward to your weekly postings!

I think you have provided five great tips to encourage others to use technology. Why not use something that could save you time, is fun, and can be easy to implement right away? My teaching partner last year refused to use technology because she was overwhelmed by it. I invited her class over to my room during my planning time and taught a lesson. She was able to watch me set up the equipment, engage the students, and even have a little fun herself. Just as students need someone to model expected behaviors, sometimes so do adults. I would add MODEL to tip one ! She was excited to see how quickly the students caught on to prime and composite numbers. Of course it took sometime before she was willing to give it a go herself, but that’s okay!

Great post, thank you for the helpful tips.
