July 20th: National Space Exploration Day?

I recently read an article from universetoday.com that talks about a group that is spearheading a movement to declare July 20th Space Exploration Day and July 16th – 24th as the U.S. Space Observance in honor of Apollo 11′s mission to the moon and back.  What do you think?  You can add your name to their petition by going to www.spaceexplorationday.us.  The primary supporter of this movement is the Utah Space Association.

Mission Impossible: Southeast Texas Nature Challenge 2009

A partnership between the Texas A&M AgriLIFE Extension service, the Texas Forest Service, and Houston Wilderness is hosting a summer nature challenge for southeast Texas.  The mission is to spend time this summer outdoors experiencing the participating parks and recreational areas in southeast Texas.  For more information, please visit essmextension.tamu.edu/naturechallenge/.
