Last summer I made my second attempt at writing  a grant for $2000 from BestBuy.  The first attempt last year, was unsuccessful. I knew that BestBuy was announcing the winners on Feb. 18, so I was up looking first thing that morning.  Imagine my delight when I saw my name on the list.  But what?  Everyone else I could see on the list had been awarded $2000 but it appeared to say $1000 by my name.  A little confused but still excited, I read on.  With further reading, I discovered that I had actually been awarded the second tier prize, $10,000!  The last zero didn’t fit on the screen.  WOW!!! How exciting.  I will not only be able to fund my podcasting project, but I will also be able to share goodies with my school.  We are now one of 50 school districts, competing for 8, $100,000 prizes.  So, wish me luck as I write yet another grant proposal in hopes of being one of the 8 projects funded.
