ISTE 2010

July 2nd, 2010 · No Comments

ISTE 2010 in Denver was one of the best I have attended and this was my 10th conference.  I gathered more useful ideas to take back to my school than ever before.  I am truly enjoying my summer, but am also looking forward to sharing with my colleagues when I return in the fall.

NECC was another sucess this summer.  In Washington, D.C.  combined with all the sites to see, NECC offered something for everyone.  I learned about how to do videos in the library using a Flip Camera.  The keynote speakers were also excellent this year.  Next year in Denver.

Living It Up In Boston

June 13th, 2009 · No Comments

I am here in Boston, MA.  History is all around this fine city.  We visited the JFK Library and Museum yesterday.  I have been there before, but I find the library inspiring and sad at the same time.  I am not sure what is in store for today, but I am sure it will involve something really old.  Cheers!

This and That

Philippe Cousteau’s visit at O. Henry was very successful.  The students asked some really great questions regarding his work.

We are about to bring back our weatherstation so we can keep track of our exciting weather in Austin, TX.

Discovery Education PreCon

February 9th, 2009 · No Comments

Discovery had an excellent PreCon event at the Bob Bullock Museum last week.  Even though it covered several topics I had recently been introduced to, there was even more that I got out of this session.  Thank you Discovery.

Philippe Cousteau visited O. Henry Middle School last Thursday.  Our students were very interested in what he had to say.  The event was a huge success.  Thank you again, Discovery and Region XIII for sponsoring this.

This is an exciting day for us at O. Henry Middle School.  Philippe Cousteau is visiting us and we are all very excited.

TCEA is also going on this week and I am picking up some pretty cool ideas to share with my teachers.

This is my very first post as a Star and I am very excited to be a part of this fine group.
