I’ll have the wings with a side of … TECHNOLOGY!

The South Carolina DEN is blossoming in spring!

Come on out and celebrate spring with your fellow DEN members on Wednesday, April 23rd. We will be meeting in Columbia during the Spring SCeTV workshops. DEN members should have already received an invitation, which includes dinner and non-alcoholic beverages. That’s right- nothing brings educators together like free food!

ALL RSVP’s must be made by April 19!

Be sure to let us know if you’re going to be there. Send us an email: sc.den.leaders@gmail.com and while you’re at it, let EVERYONE know by posting a comment on the blog!

Is there anybody out there?

Just wanted to make a quick shout out to all the SC DEN members…and anyone else reading this :)

What have you done with Discovery OR technology & education lately? Comment here and let us know what is going on in your school/district.

I’ll start…

Last week, my district had a pre-conference event for SCASL 2008. We talked about Web2.0 tools. One site I highlighted was Blabberize. You can download an image from StreamlineSC, upload it to Blabberize, select the mouth or “talking” area of the image, and record your own voice. Then you play the blabber and the picture talks!! There are so many ways you could use this in the classroom.

-introduce a new topic/theme/lesson

-pose questions for your students

-allow students to record reports on this famous person

and more!

Leave us a comment so we know you are out there!  We miss hearing from ya!

WELCOME to our newest STAR in South Carolina!

The SC Leadership Council would like to welcome Cynthia Stephens from Berkeley County School District to the DEN. Congrats for being our newest STAR, too!

Please take a minute to welcome Ms. Stephens. South Carolina is proud of all of our DEN members, and the LC hopes that everyone is out there recruiting!
