Graphic Organizers (GO) and Thinking Maps (TM)

The presentation received a very positive response!  There were about 20 educators attending.  I ran over time a little and the slides were a little busy (for just an introduction).  I felt the auditorium was a little cramped or closed in.  I had to stand in the audience to present and see the slides.  Next time i will make the viewer smaller.

I’m acutally waiting for some feedback.  If Teachers are interested in using GO/TM in their instruction, then i can present a series of 8-10 presentations aimed at each TM with lots of demonstrations across core subjects.  We learned about this stuff in school years ago (for some) but we may have forgotten how they are used and there usefulness.

The key here is for Teachers to get comfortable using TM which naturally flows through their preparation and delivery.  I can tell you from experience that in the business world, GO are used extensively by management to organize, troubleshoot, and solve problems everyday – in real life.  In my opinion, we should be giving our kids useful tools to manage their knowledge and information.

So, let me hear from you!!!  Would you like to discover more about TM/GO and how they work?  Need a refresher on how to use this tool effectively?
