Robin Talkowski’s Blog: Reading & Technology

Musings

October 2009

When I began this blog almost a year ago, I identified my purpose as sharing ways in which reading instruction can be enhanced and improved with the integration of technology.  I continually search for ways of being a better reading teacher through technology integration; however, my interest in education far exceeds reading instruction.  I am interested in how to reach the difficult to reach student, how to engage and motivate all students, and how to differentiate instruction so that the learning needs of all can be met in heterogeneous classes.  Consequently, I’ve decided to change the page title to “musings,” i.e. topics I believe are important to education and include how technology can help whenever appropriate.

As a reading specialist in a middle school, I am constantly searching for ways to integrate technology into my teaching as a way to engage and challenge my students as well as finding ways to tap into the talents they all possess.  I will be using this blog as a vehicle for sharing my ideas and continuing the stimulating, challenging, fun, and frustrating journey called teaching.  I hope to find colleagues who will join in the journey with me.
