East TN Day of Discovery a Hit

Saturday, October 24, thousands of people from around the world attended the DEN’s Virtual Conference via Webex.  About 65 of those attenddees were located at the Lake Forest Middle School in Cleveland, TN for a Day of Discovery.  And what a day it was, too!

We began the day with a virtual keynote from Justin Kerkow.  Then, attendees were able to choose from three separate breakout sessions.  One track continued the virtual conference in the media center.  Another addressed the how teachers can use DE Streaming to create builders, embed in Promethean flipcharts, and go beyond the basics with 50 Ways to use DE Streaming.  Another track was designed for administrators, library media specialists, and technology coaches.  An overview of DE Streaming was provided with other sessions including Streaming’s reporting features and DE Assessment.

The results were outstanding.

In addition, Discovery sent a film crew to interview some of our attendees regarding the DEN and the use of DE Streaming in the classroom.  The finished video project should be available around Thanksgiving, so watch this blog for an update!

We would really like to thank all the members of the DEN LC, Jennifer, our camera crew, and the students and faculty of LFMS that helped make this day a huge success.  You can see a little of what happened in the short video clip below.

Watch this blog for an update on the Western TN Day of Discovery in a day or two!
