Excellent post! I especially liked your conclusion about becoming digital citizens. It is imperative that educators help students learn both effective and responsible use of these powerful tools. Students will learn the mechanics of Web 2.0 tools, but they still need guidance to harness them effectively and ethically in order to gain true digital literacy.

I love Animoto. It is one of the tools where simplicity is powerful. I enjoyed reading the narrative about the connection between Gardner's work and how Animoto can be used in the classroom.

I enjoyed this post so much because the project itself is very creative and really addresses those 21st century skills we talk about. I especially liked this line: It’s amazing the quality of the students’ writing when they realize the audience reading their writing extends beyond the teacher. "

I really like how you framed the purpose before sharing your ideas. Time is always a constraint so having the segment clearly convey the ideas in a short time span is key and then the students always have it as a resource to review.

Excellent review! Nicely drawn parallel between optimal professional development and project-based learning. It has long been my contention that adult education needs to model practices we promote for teachers to use with students. Great job.

Welcome, Terri. I think your attitude/philosophy is where everyone needs to be - facilitator rather than expert of everything.
