Making Resources Available
Discovery Ed gets it! Their collection of video and ed resources is the subject of legend.
And now, as the result of a Parent’s Weekend, I see the University of Pennsylvania (try spelling that 3 times fast) also gets it too.
By IT, I mean the 21st Century.
UPenn’s created a library of video tutorials and handouts for all the software you’d ever want to use (i.e. Excel, ComicLife, PowerPoint, Photoshop, iMovie9, wow).
It’s available 24/7 for students, staff, and I guess US (until they find out about us).
Students are more than happy to add resources so it’s sustainable.
We all know how hard it is to keep up, how no one can know it all, or sometimes we just need a little refresher. Here’s a service that’s vital, current, and, well… free.
Check it out at

You’ll also find student MashUps - videos patched together to tell new stories.
Now THAT’s a heads-up for the kinds of things service organizations need to do: list the tools and provide the means to master them. Try checking out some other college library web sites.
