Dr. Todd Wirt

Dr. Todd Wirt serves as Discovery Education’s Head of K-12 Education and supports Discovery Education partners nationwide as they build dynamic digital learning environments connected to today’s world.

Prior to joining Discovery Education, Todd served as Regional Vice President of Assessment Sales for Instructure and as Vice President of Professional Development for Certica Solutions. Before those roles, Todd built teaching cultures, developed leaders, and improved student achievement for over 20 years in public school systems across North Carolina.

Todd has served as the Superintendent of North Carolina’s Orange County Schools, and prior to that role, he was the Assistant Superintendent of Academics at Wake County Schools, the largest district in the state and the 15th largest school district in the nation. Todd also served in the Mooresville Graded School District as both the Executive Director of Secondary Education and as a principal.

Todd has a bachelor’s degree in education from Elon University, a master’s degree in school administration from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a doctorate in education from Wingate University. Todd, his wife, and two children make their home in Efland, North Carolina.
