Have you been thinking about conducting your first training session as a Discovery Educator, but need that extra incentive to get moving?  Have you been conducting training sessions all year and want some free stuff for all your hard work?  Well, you are in luck!

Beginning today until December 31, 2005, you can receive rewards for conducting Discovery Educator Network training sessions or letting me know about training sessions that have already been completed.

If you have conducted TWO (2) training events between August 15, 2005 and December 31, 2005 you are eligible to choose one of the following items:
– Discovery Education Polo shirt
– Discovery Education Computer Bag

Discovery Educators who have conducted FOUR (4) training events between August 15, 2005 and December 31, 2005 are eligible to receive one of the following (in addition to the shirt or bag they already received):
– Wireless Presentation mouse
– $40 Gift Card to the Discovery Channel Store

There are many types of training sessions that count.  Over lunch, show 4 or 5 colleagues how to put a video into PowerPoint.  Conduct an awareness session where you demonstrate unitedstreaming to your whole faculty.  Set up an after-school training where you work hands-on with your peers.  As long as you are showing others the power of unitedstreaming, it counts.

In order for your past and future trainings to count, I must receive a training summary.  All training summaries must be received by December 31, 2005.

I am very excited to participate in this. I have included the training events that I have completed over the last couple of months. The teachers that I work with are very excited!!!
These have been between September and now (Dec. 8.) Finally, I did submit my information for the DEN application. Please let me know if there is anything else you will need to qualify me for the gift for giving four events. Usually, I work with individuals or small groups of teachers.
Finally, I created a “How-To” sheet to assist teachers in this process.

I have done two trainings since August 2005. One was for the total middle school staff on the use of technology in the classroom, and it included United Streaming. Both with worksheet notes during the video, and the video insterted into Power Points.

My other training was in my elementary building and I helped part of the 4th /5th grade team learn how to access United Streaming and how to use it once they were there.
