From Michelle Adams (Field Manager, VA/WV)
Did you know that you can use PhotoStory to create your very own digital story? PhotoStory is available as a FREE download from Microsoft and is super easy to use. It can be used with digital photos or downloaded images, (like the ones you can find on unitedstreaming).
Once you download the PhotoStory software, the program walks you through the steps of creating a digital story. PhotoStory allows you to import what photos or images you would like to use, add effects and transitions to each photo, add background music, create your own music or add a narration to your photos and put in titles or text for each photo. PhotoStory is so easy to use that you can even have your students create their own stories. Once your digital story is complete it is saved as a Windows Media Player file.
Did you discover something new? Deliver the discovery to at least three more colleagues and show them the benefits of what you discovered. Then document your event on the report form! Get points for discovering, delivering and documenting! Maybe you will win this week!
As we at Jefferson-Morgan Elementary attempt to move toward a paperless environment, PhotoStory is a wonderful resource for our mission (we’ve been using PhotoStory for months)! Via PhotoStory, our 6th grade students produced a “digital” yearbook versus a traditional “paper” yearbook. The user friendly nature of PhotoStory allowed us to easily complete the task. We are confident that our community will applaude our multimedia efforts!
