BOY do we ever have things to celebrate!
First, how many of you remember the contest for a trip to NECC in San Diego? The top ten loaders of resources would win a trip to San Diego, including airfare, hotel and registration for the conference. We had seven North Florida DEN members successfully load documents to the resource section of the website, and one of those seven were among the top ten! Congratulations to Michele Futch of Calhoun County! She uploaded successfully a total of 40 documents and is among the winners going to NECC! I freaked my dad out with a scream when I read that she won – I can only imagine what she did! Congratulations on winning such an awesome edventure!
Speaking of NECC – if anyone is going, please let me know! There is something special for just Discovery Educator Network Members and I’d like to clue you in on it!
Next, in an email I promised some prizes out to the person who reported event #50, #75, and #100. Thomas Allison from Alachua County wins a Discovery Shirt for reporting #50, Michael Maine from Hernando County won a laptop bag (minus the laptop) for reporting #75 and Cheryl Cyrus from Leon County won her choice of a shirt or bag and a gift card!
I liked that contest so much, let’s do round 2. The person who reports the 200th event wins a $40 gift card to the Discovery Store! Get those events reported, even if they happened in January! Events can include trainings, tip sharing and even unit planning with 3 or more people with unitedstreaming. It can even include Discovery Health Events! These reported events give you a chance to win an MP3 Player if you get them in by May 31st! And in June we’re giving an even bigger prize away so get them in to win! They also make us look good!
I just completed a DEN activity form and some of you are OFF the charts! I know the rest of you will be busy in the fall with back to school events and trainings. If you plan on doing an event in the fall that you will need a training kit for, please email me the attached form ASAP.
