First, let me begin by saying thank you for all the emails asking where I’ve been on the blogging. This blog right here will be a long one, so hopefully it’ll fill the gaps my absence has left behind.
Upcoming Event: Top Gun!
One of the benefits of DEN is a chance to network and to get in on the many opportunities out there. Darlene Wolfe from Ocoee has a wonderful opportunity for DEN members interested in educational video games. The event is on June 29th at Ocoee High School at 11 AM, and your upper-elementary through high school kids are welcome to join you! There are only 40 slots, so RSVP quickly on either the DEN website’s calendar or by emailing me. And make sure that you RSVP any children you plan to bring with you! I’m attaching the invitation that gives all the other details! Download invitation_for_den_to_rosser_at_ocoee.doc
State Contest Winners
I finally got around the state to personally deliver the winners of the contest announced at FETC their prizes. Virginia Richard’s from Polk County won a sweet digital camera for registering the most events on the calendar. Cheryl Woolwine from Putnam County was second in registering events on the calendar and she won the gigabyte usb drive. (She also won a DEN shirt for a blog comment.) I’m proud to say that North Florida swept the events portion of the contest, and Putnam County won the highest percentage of events registered. They will be receiving one cool DEN Day in November, featuring Lance Rougeux, Karen Seddon and myself. So Putnam, if you have any ideas or desired workshops, let me know!
The New unitedstreaming Parties!
We had a nice small turn-out at the Panera Bread event, and we had a lot of fun! The attendees were thankful for the small turn out because many of them walked away with 2 or more prizes! Michele Futch’s son even participated in the CPS game and beat his mother’s score! Wendy from Osceola won the "Biosphere" grand prize for having the highest score on the CPS game. We’ll have to try this again soon.
Back to School Bash!
Save this date: July 21st! More details will be coming. The event will be held in the center of Florida somewhere, but I’m not telling you yet where! Just save that date! DEN members will have a chance to win a projector and other cool prizes to start the school year off right! Plus have lots of fun and get to know other DEN members. It won’t be your traditional Back to School Workshop! My lips are sealed on the rest!
Tip a Day in May Winners!
The final weekly prize and the big MP3 player prize was drawn while at Panera Bread by Tommy Futch. Shelley Thompson from Putnam County – you won another gift card! This time to Borders! Cecelia Solomon from Hernando County, you’re the lucky grand prize winner! Both of you please contact me for mailing details.
WOW! That was a lot of information to get out! Leave comments below on what you think of the new unitedstreaming now that you’ve had a chance to play with it for a couple of weeks.
