Kudos to the North Florida DEN!

Ddd_006 Danielle Abernethy and the North Florida DEN sure know how to throw a great DEN event.  DEN baby Donovan, Debbie, Jonathan, Kyle and I from South Florida had so much fun joining the North Florida DEN members at the Devils Rays beautiful stadium, Tropicana Field.  There were so many talented DEN members sharing what they learned from the Regionals and National Leadership Conferences.  I believe the super star wasDdd_001 Tommy Futch, Michelle’s 10 year old son.  He eloquently described the power of being a Cosmeo kid.  We need to take him on the road! Danielle rewarded the 30+ Florida DEN members with lots of great Discovery prizes and then treated the crew to a high scoring Devil Rays game and a hot dog dinner.  It was a great time for all.  We all learned so much from Brook, Darlene, Cheryl, Larry, Debbie and the North Florida DEN.

Ddd_004 Our East Coast Team had the Discover, Deliver and Document contest in May and June.  Weekly prizes were given to DEN members who reported events and one lucky DEN member in each of our East Coat Teams won a mpg player with audio capability for podcasting.  The South Florida DEN winner was picked in a Ddd_003 wonderfully geeky manner right at the game.  Debbie had my laptop with a list of all the DEN members who had documented events and Jonathan had my Prize Wheel on his Treo phone.  The prize wheel randomly picked a number between 1 and 256 and the lucky winner was number 117 – Carole Ddd_005 Gooden from St. Lucie County.

Now here’s the cool part.  I’m not going to tell Carole.  I’m going to challenge any DEN member reading this blog to email her and congratulate her.  Let’s see how long it takes before she finds out.  Carole Gooden is a master storytelling.  Wouldn’t it be great to have her begin a storytelling podcast?  To email Carole, click here.

As always, I am
Ubiquitously yours,

What a great story! I am usually the one who can geek anyone out here in the District. But, seeing Debbie with a laptop at a game was awesome! Way to go! And, hearing that Carole won, well, that was too good an opportunity to miss. Of course she sure deserves it! So, I e-mailed her too! Poor Carole, I bet her mailbox will be over the limit when she looks at it this morning! That’s great, Carole!

Great photos! Kudos to Danielle for putting on such a great event. It makes the conference experience even more valuable when you share your knowledge with others.

Sorry I missed the event I emailed Danielle and Carole, what a great event. Unfortunately fishing won out for the days activity for me. Caught a few too.

We missed you all that couldn’t make it. Debbie did a fantastic job, as usual, in her presentations. Wendy, my dad agrees, fishing should win out over baseball any day!

We’re looking at a beach party in October with sandbuilding class possibility!

Thank you so much Karen for the opportunity to attend the event at the Trop. It was very informative and I was impressed with the knowledge all the presenters had and shared with the rest of us, from Timeliner to Inspiration to PodCast. The only way the evening could have been better is if the picture you took of Jon and I was a little more on the “good” side than the “bad” side (at least for one of us). 🙂

Thanks for the comment on my son. I’ll be sure to share it with him. He really enjoyed presenting Cosmeo. He will present and share Cosmeo anytime!

Tommy has told all his friends and teachers about it. We are hooked on COSMEO.

The “Cosmeo Kid” has gone to Space Camp this week. I am sure he has told everyone there about Cosmeo! There will probably be little astronaut wanna-be’s from all over America signing up for Cosmeo when they get home!

Another NFL Den member has enjoyed eavesdropping!
