Survivor Tip #6

Tom Turner from Polk brings you another tip, this time dealing with the new feature: Writing Prompt Builder.

Using the Writing Prompt Builder, create a prompt that suits your particular curriculum (and is FCAT friendly) that you can use over and over. Use them to build writing skills through reflection and critical thinking. Save them, share them with your school and/or district, print them out on overheads – there’s so much to do.

And once you create your writing prompt, you can add it to personalized lesson in the Assignment Builder. Add a video, throw in your writing prompt, have students use Inspiration to organize their thoughts, watch another video on editing writing, edit, and publish! This works well for writing across the curriculum.

Thanks Tom. Tomorrow he’s going to share virtual field trips. Share this tip (and the others) with other teachers in your school. Document that you shared the tip of the day, send that documentation to me, and boost your chance to win a Discovery Survivor Gift!

Is there a way to save the prompts created so that I can put them onto dvd, or can you only view them on the site and student center? I want to display them on my tv, but can’t figure out how to do this. Can anyone walk me through the steps if it is possible.

Hey Nikki, Why don’t you write what you just learned up and share it as a tip of the day? There might be other wanting to learn how you did that.
