Yesterday Tom said he’d share with you Virtual Field Trips with unitedstreaming. I asked him to hold that tip and share another one that is quite important. He shared it last night at the Polk Networking gathering, and I felt like it needed to be shared here as well.
Subscribing to the Blog: Does your district block blogging and blogsites, including Discovery’s (which is through typepad)? Frustrated because you can’t read Danielle’s many, many thoughts and keep up (as if that’s possible) with her day to day? Then you need to subscribe to the blog.
You might not be able to do this from school, so plan to do it from home or some other non-controlling Internet Access point. Go to the blog site: http://blog.discoveryeducation.comnorthflorida and on the right hand side in the gray box there is a SUBSCRIBE: via email: All you have to do is fill in your email, hit subscribe me! and then you’ll be taken to FEEDblitz to verify. You’ll have to confirm the subscription request by clicking the link in the email that is sent to you. What this does is sends you the complete post to your school or home email address. This way you can still keep up to date with Danielle’s babbling, I mean blogging.
Thanks Tom. On that same note: You get activity points for subscribing to the blog. You also get points for commenting. So if your district blocks the blog and you’d like to comment, just email me the comment. I’ll post it. I’ve done this in the past for others. I enjoy the comments. It tells me you’re reading the post and I’m not "babbling" to myself.
So how many of you are subscribed and get "FEEDblitz" in your in-box almost daily from North Florida? I’d suggest subscribing for the National blog too. They are always posting some great information and lately some wonderful stress relief items. Go check out today’s post and leave a comment.
Nancy Pegg from Putnam County will have a tip to share on Monday. Autumn Steine from Polk won a shirt to go back to school in style with for sharing her tips. (It’s in district mail!) Who else wants to win a Discovery prize for sharing their tip of the day? Email them to me!
Oh, and the challenge is on! Debbie Bohanan from South Florida, particularly Osceola, is challenging North Florida to a usage duel! I think the DEN Member who has the most active school in North Florida should win a gift card (and if there’s more than one DEN member who’s been reporting events for that school, you all win!), along with the faculty snacks. Let’s get busy North Florida!
