I'm Blogging This

BloggingDavid Warlick has this really cool shirt that says, "I’m Blogging This." I think I need one that says, "I’m Blabbering This."

Let’s start with Discovery Educator Abroad. Claudia Novak, a New England Star DEN Member, is about to take a trip to China. While there, she has agreed to share her experience on the Discovery Educator Abroad site. Your students will have a chance to interact with her while she’s there. Read Dawn’s blog for more about Claudia’s trip. (I have a prize to randomly give away for commenting on this particular blog.)

Edtechconnect How many of you went to Joe Brennan’s EdTechConnect last week? For those of you not familiar with the EdTechConnect Series, they are webinars with outstanding educators on hot topics. Last year we had Kathy Shrock, Alan November, and Steve Dembo. We just found out the rest of this year’s Ed Tech Connect sessions.

The first is October 18th with Star Discovery Educator Carol Anne Maguire. She will be sharing her experiences with Rock Our World, an international project involving 18 countries spanning the entire globe. Students and teachers come together to learn about each other through podcasting, movie making, and face-to-face video conferencing.

Next is David Warlick. He’ll be appearing on November 15th. The Southern Regional Brook_kay_warlick_1attendees had a chance to meet him in Atlanta. I can’t wait to hear his topic. Have any of you read any of his books?

The last one slated is another great blogger, 100_0391_1Will Richardson. Some of you may remember meeting him at our special DEN Dinner at FETC last year where we got to meet the National Blog winners. (Tom Turner will not remember this since he stood us up for some other dinner.) Will Richardson also wrote a great book that I would strongly recommend.

Don’t forget we have our Atlas party on Saturday. Very important date for so many reasons. :-). I’ve got prizes and I’m working on my CPS game right now.

And don’t forget to comment for your chance to win the Florida comment contest and send Karen Seddon your "good news" on how to use unitedstreaming.

Simply commenting to save face!!! I was NOT invited to last year’s dinner hence me not even showing up. :p

If you get the chance to listen to Alan November speak I would highly recommend it. His passion in the message he gives is apparent.

And Danielle…as promised..I will attend this year’s dinner…only as a remembrance that you didn’t have the foresight to invite me to last year’s dinner 😛

The webinars are really helpful, when time and distance prevent travel to remote locations. Thank you for the listing of upcoming speakers.

Thanks to all who attended our Atlas Premiere Chinese lunch and Party. Danielle had great door prizes and the DEN members were all helpful, sharing and caring about our programs and ideas. It is great to be involved with such wonderful people. I sent Danielle the photos I took so she can share them. Looking forward to another DEN activity because we have such great members and a super field manager!

Sorry I missed it! My son had a Pee Wee Football Game this morning. On the bright side, in triple over-time, we won the game!

Can’t wait to see and hear all about it!

Sniff. All those who could not be with us were missed. Bethany who couldn’t find the information, Jane who got sick, Tom who had to work, and all those who were coming from too far.

    But Go Tommy’s team!

The webinars are great, I loved the storytelling webinar with Joe Brennan. I think it was a couple of weeks ago, that’s the one I took, about storytelling. Great resources and links. I even presented the PwPt on my training this morning, well ,pieces of it, it was really good. Thanks Danielle again for all your support. YOU ARE GREAT!

Unfortunately I missed Joe’s webinar. Do you know if they are willing to do it again? I had a Kidspiration workshop at my school that day until 5:30.
