So that we can share T+L with all DEN members, we are looking for three STAR Discovery Educators who would like to attend and share their learning through blogs and podcasts. Here’s the deal. If you are a STAR Discovery Educator and would like to attend T+L, let me know by posting your name and preferred contact information as a comment to this blog post by October 13, 2006. Three members will be chosen randomly to attend. The trip will include airfare, lodging and conference registration (meals not included).
In return, you MUST agree to share your conference experience with other DEN members by:
- Attending the T+L conference from November 7 through November 10, 2006 (including a special DEN pre-conference session on Tuesday November 7 featuring special guest Deneen Frazier Bowen).
- Post a minimum of one blog post per day while attending the conference.
- Do one podcast for the entire conference.
**Please note: if you are new to blogging or podcasting, no problem, we will have plenty of support there for you!
The three educators selected to receive the educational scholarship will be announced October 16, 2006 on this blog. Good luck, I hope to see you there!
I would be interested in learning more about this adventure. Please put my name in for consideration.

Yes!! Please consider me for the T&L conference! I would love to share with other educators about UnitedStreaming and technology! My preferred method of contact is by email at kdziok@mec.edu. Thanks!
I would be very interested in taking advantage of the opportunity to go to the T+L conference. I’m from Maine and have been a technology integrator for the past two years but because of budget cuts in our district my position was cut so I am now back in a second grade classroom. I miss all the learning that takes place with the technology to keep me stimulated. I am busy with my second graders just learning some of the basics in technology so hopefully by the end of the year they will have accomplished some really neat technology projects. I like the idea of learning how to podcast. I’ve been interested but haven’t made myself learn how to do it before so this would be a great opportunity.

I would definitely be interested in the opportunity to attend this conference. How excited I would be if my name were chosen!!!
This would be a great chance to see what’s going on in another state. I get to the PA conference every year, but a chance to hear from new educators and make new face to face contacts would be unbelieveable.
We’re starting blogs and have teachers interested in podcasting, so this experience would provide some hands on training in these areas.
Thanks for considering!
Would I love to go? You bet!! Learning new things is my thing!
Wendy Morris contact via email wmorris@lex5.k12.sc.us
Obviously Scott, I am not the only one that wants to go!!! I would love to attend this conference. I love learning new things and would love sharing about this experience with others. No one in my county has ever been to this conference. I could bring a lot back to my county and North Florida.
I could even bring the “Cosmeo Kid” to learn more great stuff about the DEN & Cosmeo to tell everyone, young and old, he comes in contact with. My son is your best promoter! He loves the DEN and COSMEO!
Also, my birthday is October 16th. What a great birthday present for me! Thanks for considering me!

Thanks
I am almost afraid to say I would love to go to T + L again, since I was one of the very fortunate 9 to attend in Denver last year. What I love most about any DEN event is that it brings the cutting egde to you before it’s been cut. Nothing equals the power of Discovery, and our students always benefit. Of course I’d love to attend again and be a part of those special sessions open only to DEN. Where else will the ratio of keynote speakers to educators ever equal what DEN offers. I love to blog, was just given an iPod video at the Keystone Summit, and bringing the message back is what I love best. But quite a talented group would like to go who haven’t been, and I can tell you from experience that you are in for the best time of your life. Good luck to you all.
I would love to attend!! Count me in and please, please pick me! My preferred contact is via email: billie.hetrick@nn.k12.va.us

I would love the opportunity to attend and learn and share! Please add my name to the list of wannabies!
Hi! Looks like there are LOTS of good DEN, not just a few! I too would love to attend and participate. You could contact me by email at molishus@comcast.net. I sure hope my husband lets me go if I’m picked!!!
WOW!
Doing something i’m a little timid to actually try on my own, that would be an awesome adventure…
It could be one more techie skill to share with my students and staff upon return…and it just so happens we just covered the Alamo/Teas territory in our history class.
i’d consider it an honor!
I would love to attend the conference in Dallas. I am a newcomer to United Streaming and have been learning new technology things all the time!

Thanks!
O.K. So it took me a little while to find the time to write this comment. I have been BUSY! In my district I have held United Streaming Presentations for three Elementary Schools. (Another is planned for next week.) I am also presenting at our regional teacher’s convention – Northwestern Wisconsin Education Association. I will be sharing United Streaming and Quia.com where I create my webpages that support my classwork. It includes a calendar of assignments, notes to parents, on line practice activities, quizzes and links to other research sites. I am currently working with my Technology director to set up my classroom podcasting and wiki sites. Somehow, I still find time to be prepared for class and parent teacher conferences! (Yes, type A – anal.) Could I please have one more thing to juggle? Sadly, I can’t offer up my first born child as a tempting trade for the chance to attend the T+L Conference, but I can promise to LEARN and SHARE! ~Pat Hawkenson hoping to represent the great state of WISCONSIN! (GO, Jan!)

Hello from Wisconsin! This conference sounds like a wonderful opportunity to experience new ways to enhance student learining through technology. Thanks for giving three educators a chance to attend. I hope I am one of them.
What an awesome opportunity! What an excellent example of the benefits of being a DEN educator.
I’d love to Blog my way to and from Texas! What a great way to share the conference with others who can’t make the journey. Count me in as a candidate, I’d love to bring the conference to all the other teachers at home! Thanks for another great DEN opportunity!
This is the first opportunity I’ve had to check this out. I’d LOVE to be a lucky winner! I don’t know too much about blogging or podcasting, but am very willing to learn. Sharing new ideas with fellow educators is one of my passions. The hardest part is finding the time to “catch” people and show them all the NEW STUFF. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
I am a teacher by choice and a life long student because I just love learning. I would love to go to Texas and be abel to bring back as much information as possible for everyone to share. My birthday is in November and nothing would make me more happy than to learn and share knowledge during my birth month! I would be an honor and a pleasure to be chosen.
I would love to go to Texas and bring back the latest and greatest technology ideas to our educators.
It would my pleasure to attend the T&L conference and share the exprience with other DEN members.

Please consider my name for the drawing to attend the conference. Our state has limited funds due to the hurricanes so it would be great to have this opportunity made available. Thanks for supporting educators.
I am a STAR DISCOVERY EDUCATOR in training, from Connecticut, and a conference would be a FANTABULOUS way to become a real DEN member! Good Luck to everyone! Happy Fall from Connecticut!
WOW! Send me! Send me! I would love to go and share the conference with my fellow Discovery STARS!
I think I posted this in the wrong place. I would like to enter to go! Please contact me by email.
I’ve already mentioned reasons why I’d love to go. But, I’m gonna say it again. Please consider me for this wonderful opportunity 🙂
Scott,
I would love to be considered to participate in the T & L Conference. I think the DEN brings lots of info to teachers just in resources alone. However this month has been extrodinary with the launch of ATLAS (webnair), presenting COSMEO at parent nights, doing COSMEO research for lesson plans at EPCOT and unitedstreaming trainings for new teachers in the classroom. I think I can still do more to bring new technology Florida via the conference. Thanks for all the new opportunities.
I would truly enjoy the opportunity to be an active participant at the T&L Conference to represent the STAR Discovery Educator network. By being an active participant, I could bring back to our Western Wisconsin educators and K-12 students a wealth of instructional technology resources and best practices. I would also like to share the T&L Conference’s message through my upcoming keynote presentation at UW-L, where I will speaking to over 750 Master teachers about the subject matter of how instructional technology practices and strategies enhance student achievement. Thank you for providing this high quality professional development opportunity for us as educators- it is greatly appreciated!
I know this would be an awesome opportunity to help me with the Fox Den
Please consider me for the T+L Conference.
What a great oppotunity! I would love to learn more about podcasting and represent Wisconsin at the T&L Conference!
I would love to have the chance to learn something new to bring back to my teachers.

I would love to represent DEN at T&L! Thanks for this opportunity. Email is the best way to reach me…areardon@wssd.k12.pa.us.

Who could pass up the chance to go to T+L?? Once a “newbie,” I am hooked on blogging and would jump at the chance to learn more about podcasting (since I recently got my very own iPod). So, the chance to go to Dallas for just doing what comes naturally (that would be the talking part) each day and one podcast (more talking)? Toss my ticket into that lottery!(YEAH Shannon!!)
jthorpe@umasd.org
Dallas, DEN, T+L what a combination! Count me in!!! The best way to contact me is by e-mail.
Thanks,
Vicki
Having been to T & L as well as presented, it would be great to go back to share it with others particularly in Pennsylvania

As I write this I have my Discovery Educator t-shirt on because we had a special dress down day today and I enjoy wearing it to school. I am proud to wear it and so happy to be a DEN member. The Summer DEN institute at Valley Forge was such an amazing experience, it would be so awesome as well to be able to attend and share my experiences with my fellow Educators. I’ve been wanting to learn how to make a podcast anyway. Thanks for your consideration.
T+L = ME??? I guess the math teacher in me is coming out! I would love to have the opportunity to attend this event. Thanks for considering me!

I would love to attend this conference. Thanks for your consideration. Mike
Sounds like a great opportunity…Count me in. And you can reach me via email!
Perfect timing! After having a great experience with the DEN Regional Institute this summer, I returned to school feeling extremely motivated and excited to share all that I learned about blogs and podcasting. I feel as though these technologies will make the reading, writing, and creative thinking processes more meaningful and authentic for my students. It’s reassuring to know that the DEN is there to act a catalyst for such activities. And, I think Dallas would be a great place for an EAGLES fan to visit!
Please consider me as well, I’d love to go! Now that I have a full-time instructional tech job, it’s nice to be able to do what I love when I go to work and the DEN has been a great support in that — Thanks!
