This is THRILLING news, and you get to hear it first here!
Kay Teehan, a North Florida DEN Super STAR from Polk County, has published a book on Digital Storytelling! This summer during our regional event she mentioned that she was working on one. Then David Warlick gave some advice on how to get books published. And like the superstar she is, she got it done!
Kay’s accomplishments include being a National Board Certified teacher, a Florida Digital Master Educator, and so much more. I’ve mentioned Kay on here plenty of times in the past. There was the sweetheart picture of how her and her husband were Tech Angels for us at the summer Regional event. As a DEN member, she’s trained over 300 teachers in the use of unitedstreaming. She has also hosted a webinar on Digital Storytelling for North Florida DEN. She’s presented at numerous conferences, and in the near future she’ll be presenting at the National Middle School Conference in Nashville first week of November. And each time I see her presentation, I learn something new. She’s fantastic! I mention all of this just to let you know that she is very knowledgeable in this area and in education as a whole.
I’m buying a copy to give away to a DEN member. Maybe I can get her to autograph it for the winner. Hmmm……..but how? I thought about having you create a digital story about your favorite Halloween memory or story. However, that might be a little daunting for those new to digital stories. So instead, if you want to win a copy – just respond to this blog! We’ll do the drawing on Monday. A great way to start the week!
Congratulations Kay on this fantastic accomplishment!
PS: If you click on the title of the book: Digital Storytelling, it takes you to the publisher – Lulu. Good question LaQuita. Sorry it wasn’t so easy to find.
Congratulations Kay,
This is great. I would love to have a copy as well. Where can I get a copy? Keep up the good work.
Hey LaQuita! You have a chance to win one by commenting on the blog. Plus, there’s the link in the blog – the title of the book. Click on it and it will take you straight to her page.

I can’t continue to THANK my LUCKY CHARMS that I work with such a wonderful person. Her drive and passion to increase teacher use of technology in the classroom funnels over to the entire faculty. Thanks again Kay for all you do and all you have done for me in the last 3 years!!!

I can’t wait to get my copy. I also want it autographed!!! Way to go Kay!! I’ll feel like I’m with royalty the next time we get together!! Hey, that’s next Saturday at my school. See you then.
How exciting! Danielle did a Digital Storytelling workshop for our district last week, and everyone loved it! I’ll forward the Feedblitz to all the participants.
I hope I win the book, but if I don’t, I’ll definitely be looking for how to purchase it.
I can’t wait to read it ! One class is not enough ! This will help me become a pro !
Congratulations, Kay! What an accomplishment for you and a great resource for the rest of us! Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Congratulations, I have to say ditto to all the comments. The DEN is such a great place to showcase individual accomplishments and share them with others. As teachers we rarely get our accomplishments published let alone publicized. I think it is great to showcase again congratulations.
Digital storytelling is so much fun and there is always something new to learn!I am sure the book will be a wonderful reference!
Congratulations Kay! I am looking forward to reading your book. Digital storytelling is my new passion!
I have to ask, what was the tip you received to help you get your book published? One day I would like to write a book and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kay,
You are an inspiration to busy teachers everywhere!
There I was at Epcot visiting with such a gifted author and I had no idea of her many talents! I feel so honored to be a part of such a great community of educators! Way to go Kay. I can’t wait to get my hands on your book.
Way to go Kay! I’m an interested in learning more about digital storytelling and know my students would love it!
Maybe we set up an event with Kay present to autograph her book!I am proud to have her a member of our Network!
I think we need to have a book signing party/event for Kay!
Can’t wait to see her again to Congratulate her in person!
