FETC is just around the corner!

Logo FETC (Florida Educational Technology Conference) is my favorite conference.  It is known as one of the best in the nation and is in our own state!  Last year, Danielle and I were just beginining as DEN Field Managers and had the privilege of hosting the first DEN preconference event for FETC ever.  It was informative and fun, but this year is even better.Carole_2_1

On January 24th, 2007, the STAR DEN members will be experience professional development at Universal Studios! Rise and shine because we start rolling at 7:30 am and go straight through until 3 pm! We start with a behind the scenes look at the movie and ride magic. Just how do they get the Mummy to terrify you? What does a park need to know about setting? How can you recreate a tornado that will rock your world? Can make-up really turn the most beautiful creature into a thing of horror? Then we have the opportunity to work our own media productions, with the park at hand for any last minute footage. STAR DEN members who apply and are accepted will have a choice between Digital Storytelling or Enhanced Podcasting for their final projects which can be done in the park in teams or partners.

I would love to say please, please pick me. But, I will be presenting at FETC on the 24th. So I’ll be missing all of the fun over at Univeral.

Hey Sue, what are you presenting? A workshop? What topic?

I have never been to FETC, but last year everyone had such a good time. I plan to attend this year don’t want to miss out the information that gets presented. I hope you pick me but I know that you have so many good people (STARS) to pick choose from. Karen you and Danielle have your work cut out for you.

Hi Danielle, I’m doing a podcasting workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday. I’m really going to miss Universal. Last year was great at the middle school and I can only imagine what you guys are up to this year. I’ll see you at the dinner and hear all about your escapades at Universal.

Oh man Sue, we could have used your expertise for the podcasting part of our experience! But good luck and way to go. Is it a 2 day workshop or just a one day being presented twice? I’d love to come Tuesday if possible.
We’ll save you a spot for dinner. Looking forward to seeing you again!

We moved here 14 years ago. Maybe there is still hope…
